BIOGRAPHY

Xai is a Hmong American dreamer.

"Life is like Art. Splatter some paint and sprinkle some glitter. Creativity is in you."

She was inspired by the hard work of her mother and sisters, so she learned needling at the age of 7. She enjoyed the use of patterning and organic shapes. During high school years, she explored videography and photography. In college years, she practiced different types of 2D/4D and 3D art including digital photography, black and white photography, installations, watercolor painting, book arts, and letterpress printing with the studies of Western and Non-Western art history. She graduated from College of Saint Benedict's earning her Bachelors of Arts. She focused more of digital photography and computer art work (photoshop). Her current art work are into the theme of duality in cultures specifically Hmong and American. She uses her own experiences and many other Hmong American females' stories as inspirational motivation. Her dream is to guide her life through her work portraying the combination of two cultures.
